American Pyramidal Arborvitae
Thuja occidentalis. Also known as White Cedar. Grows to 40 feet. Spread 10 to 15 feet. Evergreen foliage is scale like and flat. Grows in ordinary soil, and also does well in swampy areas and alkaline soil. These trees are pyramidal in growth and well suited for windbreaks, plant 4 feet apart. Faster, taller and slightly wider growth than Pyramidal Arborvitae.

American Red Cedar
A dense pyramidal evergreen growing to 40 or 50 feet. Spread 8 to 20 feet. Exfoliating handsome grayish to reddish -brown bark is considered part of it's ornamental interest. Native from northern Florida to Canada and west to the Rocky Mountains. Should grow in almost any soil and does well in poor gravelly soils. Low growing Juniper with a mature height of 1 to 1.5 feet. Spread of 3 to 4 feet. Foliage is bright green, spring through fall, turning purplish to bronze tinge in cold weather. Cucumber Magnolia Tree
Magnolia acuminata. Also known as Cucumber Magnolia. Native to North America. Rapid growing to a height of 60 to 80 feet; spread 35 to 60 feet. Pyramidal shape when young, becomes broad, oval or rounded with age. Large dark green leaves measure 8 to 10 inches long and 4 to 8 inches wide. Pleasantly fragranced, inconspicuous, yellow tinged flowers appear May to early June. Pinkish red fruit 2 to 3 inches long emerges in October resembling a small cucumber. Attracts birds and wildlife.
